George Gibbs, an ex-villager, left a sum of money in his will to be
used to recognise achievement in the school. Over the years this money
has dwindled, but the awards are still supported by the Parish Council.
Teachers select pupils each year to receive recognition. This
recognition could be for any reason and is not necessarily based on
academic achievement. It might be based on their overall contribution
to the class, significant academic or social improvement, sustained
dedication, or many other factors that combine to make the recipient
worthy of the award.

The school also gives other awards for excellence or commitment in the areas of Sport, Good Citizen and the Arts.
There
is also a Headteacher's Award.
