Handwriting
Last updated 30/08/18
Handwriting is extremely important in order for children to write fluently and be understood.

We use the cursive letter formation at Wanborough Primary School and this means that all letters begin with the pencil on the line.

Children need to learn the single letter formation first and once this is secure, can join letters. Cursive handwriting can improve spelling, fluency, reading, writing and reduces errors.

You can see how to form each letter in the videos. The videos have been put together to show groups of letters with similar patterns e.g. l, t, h, b and k. The last video shows the letters joined in a sentence.

We have made the videos in two versions, for right handed and left handed writers. Select the appropriate set for you.
