Pupils and staff across the school skipped their way through the day in our recent British Heart Foundation ‘Jump Rope’ sponsored skipping event.
Despite an early rain shower, each class skipped to the beat of their favourite sounds for an hour, using some skilful and well rehearsed techniques. Children (and staff!) demonstrated an impressive range of moves involving single, double and long rope skipping.
Their reward of drinks and home baked cakes from our Healthy Tuck Shop was very welcome at the end of their session.
Most of the money raised will be donated to the British Heart Foundation, who has provided the school with some excellent resources to endorse the importance of regular exercise and healthy eating, to combat heart disease.
The school are also utilising other BHF resources to deliver the ‘Heartstart’ programme; an initiative designed to teach essential age appropriate life skills to pupils across the school.
