Elm Class - Term 5

Elm Class had a brilliant trip to Hampton Court Palace, stepping back into Tudor times!

We started our day with a guided tour of Henry VIII’s Kitchens, where we learned about their history, who worked there, and what real Tudor food was like. We even discovered that oat milk existed back then, which was a big surprise.

We explored Base Court and walked through Anne Boleyn’s Gateway before visiting the magnificent Great Hall with its grand roof and stained glass. The Chapel Royal and the Wolsey Closet gave us a glimpse into both royal ceremony and private life, while the Great Watching Chamber showed us where courtiers once waited.

A favourite moment was the Council Chamber setup, where everyone loved sitting in the royal chair around the round table. It made us feel like part of the king’s court.
