Conker Class - Term 1
This week (WC 29.09), Conker Class have been applying their understanding of human and physical features to Australia. We looked at landscape images from around Australia and identified various features, stating whether they were human or physical. The children also had the opportunity to apply their developing skills in travelling and creating shapes to the big equipment in gymnastics this week! We saw some very creative displays and uses of the equipment and the children had loads of fun. Well done Conker!

On Friday, the school celebrated European Day of Languages and Conker Class were very lucky to have Mrs Jones from the office come in to teach them some Cantonese! The children learned to say "hello", count to 6 and the names of some common animals. They did a wonderful job and hugely enjoyed it!
This week (WC 15.09) Conker class have been showing off their travelling skills in PE, using a range of equipment to inspire jungled-themed movement! We also kicked off our topic on Australia by acting out going to the airport and going on an airplane! Everyone had to present their passports before going on the plane, then we matched some Australian landmarks with the views from the airplane windows - it was a lot of fun!
Y1 Topic and PE
Conker Class have had a wonderful first couple of weeks! We have been grouping and sorting in maths, mixing colours and learning about the colour wheel in art and going on a seasonal hunt around the school grounds in science! Miss Muskett and Mrs Walley have been so impressed with how the children have settled in. Well done Conker Class!
